Private Primary School In Roodepoort

Trinityhouse Preparatory Little Falls is one of the unique preschools in Roodepoort which offers a holistic approach to learning.

Centered on a Future focused, traditional, and a family-oriented curriculum.

Welcome

Trinityhouse Preparatory Little Falls, the second Trinityhouse School, opened its doors in January 2012. We are a traditional school focused on Future Focused Learning. We teach our pupils to think critically and creatively.

Teamwork and collaboration are part of what we do every day. Our dedicated and  committed team of teachers believe that every pupil is unique, with different talents. Nurturing and bringing out this uniqueness is important to us.

Our focus is on a holistic education where we encourage pupils to be the best that they can be spiritually, physically, emotionally and mentally. We constantly strive to create this environment. Our pupils are encouraged to be self-confident, humble, kind and to take responsibility.

We consider ourselves to be a ‘Family’ at Little Falls Prep.

Giving to others and being involved in our wider community, through charity drives is important to us and our pupils are taught to ‘give back’ and reach out to those less fortunate. Our school is based on strong Christian values and these values are encouraged on a daily basis at Trinity House Little Falls Prep School.

What do we offer?

Foundation phase: Grade R to Grade 3

Grade R is the bridge from the tangible world to the world of symbols and numbers in Grade 1. Therefore, we focus on an integrated play-based programme that aims to develop the children’s phonological, literacy, mathematical, and creative problem-solving skills in a fun way. Our Grade R learners even benefit from the Duplo Lego programme which lays the early foundations for later Robotics studies.

In Grade 1 to Grade 3 we focus on teaching the basic skills, concepts and knowledge required for further learning. We offer a vibrant, invitational atmosphere where learners enjoy coming to school and where they acquire a love for learning that will sustain them throughout their school years. The three main learning areas are language, mathematics and life skills that include creative arts and physical education. We also create opportunities for personal growth so that learners can become personally responsible and accountable for their actions in the intermediate phase. In these grades learners have Robotics as subject and enjoy building and programming their robots.

All our foundation phase learners further benefit from basic computer and coding lessons.

Intersen phase (Grade 4 to Grade 6) and Grade 7

In these grades, the emphasis is still on establishing basic foundations, but learners are led into more abstract thought and independent work. We prepare them for high school by teaching them how to apply the skills and concepts they have learned. We also promote creativity and critical thinking by encouraging learners to make their own choices within well-established boundaries. Pupils may choose between Afrikaans and IsiZulu for their First Additional Language Choice.

Teachers use different teaching strategies e.g. Kagan, De Bono’s Hats and Inquiry Learning to teach Global Competencies and Global Citizenship. Microsoft Teams is the learning and resource platform used in the class and at home. iPad banks are allocated to the Gr 4-6 pupils during specific lessons to ensure our education offering remains relevant in a rapidly changing world. Grade 7 pupils use their own iPads in the classroom to enhance their learning.

Go Lab

We offer 3D printing technology, bringing objects out of the computer screen and into the real, physical world and then into the hands of students for inspection, analysis, and other processes that benefit from physical manipulation.

Introduction to Minecraft Education has added value to our teaching and learning at our school. Minecraft education naturally promotes creativity, collaboration, and problem solving – skills that are vitally important to learning.

EV3 robotics as a subject at our school has a positive learning experience for our pupils. Pupils interact with robots in the classroom and make them perform various motions and tasks; Robotics STEM lessons are extremely important for pupils as they prepare to enter the 21st-century workforce. Through robotics, pupils can learn more than just how to code.

    Culture

Culture is one of the foundational pillars of developing a well-balanced learner and plays a great role in broadening learners’ reference frameworks. Our learners have the opportunity to participate in several cultural activities, regardless of their interests and abilities in sport or academics.

These activities introduce learners to valuable experiences and real-life skills that few other platforms allow and we encourage all our learners to participate. Public speaking, for example, provides learners with self-confidence and presentation skills that will benefit them well into their professional lives.
