At Trinityhouse High Schools every child is encouraged to realize their full academic potential. The Schools emphasize the development of thinking skills, understanding and application within the framework of a holistic education.
The pupils are prepared to write the examinations of the Independent Examination Board (IEB).
The examination subjects include: English Home Language, Afrikaans First Additional Language, IsiZulu First Additional Language (Palm Lakes), Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy, Physical Sciences, Life Sciences, Accounting, Business Studies, Geography, History, Computer Application Theory, Information Technology, Visual Arts, Life Orientation, Advanced Mathematics, Advanced English.
Grade 9 pupils are given assistance with their choice of subjects for the senior phase by being given the opportunity of writing aptitude tests in their grade 9 year. Each subject department offers support for pupils who are in need of help in the subjects taught. Support classes are held at various times throughout the week, both before school and in the afternoons by arrangement.
Assessment is continuous. Cycle tests are timetabled once or twice a week and formal examinations are written in June and November. Interim reports are issued or contact is made with parents in the middle of each term and three to four formal reports are issued per year.
