Outreach - 10/17/2016
So many of the young people at our school realise how important it is to give back to the community. It is so heartwarming to see how many Trinityhouse pupils give of their time and talents to help those are are not as fortunate as they are.
Our Outreach Programme is vast and is continuing to grow. As more and more needs are identified in the greater community, so do our pupils make every effort to meet those needs and never cease striving to make the lives of others just that little better.
Other Outreach Programme includes Kyasands Outreach. Once a week, Grade R children from Build the Future, a container school, are bused to Trinityhouse and a group of students works on their fine and gross motor skills. With this dedicated help, these little children are equipped with the skills they need to cope and flourish when they start Grade One.
Thandanani Outreach is another programme where our learners spend time, once a week, with the young children who live in the Thandanani House of Refuge which is situated in Zandspruit. The children are assisted with homework and projects and a lot of extension work is included so that the children are even more stimulated. Each week, a fun activity is also planned and the children enjoy themselves immensely. Whether the theme is Valentine’s Day or Mini-olympics, our learners spend time actively engaging with these little children and the pleasure on their faces and the sound of belly laughter which resonates through our corridors is all the reward needed.
